I am from a girl who taught her parents how to be American. I am from a time when a woman was told, “you can’t graduate from college with honors AND be married with child.” A woman who breaks barriers at work and at home. I am from a woman whose kitchen is the heart, where no one leaves hungry and what is served is the most delicious. I am from a woman who knows Love and models...

I am the anti-Disney. Seeing so many movies filled with people looking for acceptance, realizing that it isn’t what they want and that what they have is all they ever needed, and then being accepting anyways drove me crazy. I am the anti-teenager. I forget to think about my place in the world, forget that I am supposed to feel insecure about myself. Who am I? I am the anti-question. I...

I am quiet. I walk around the edges, my knuckles knock along the cold metal bars of a black fence. A fist full of crackers, I am three I run slowly, the soles of my shoes crunching the pale earth beneath me. A pocket full of notes, I am fifteen A tune escapes my lips and defines my pace. Bright, the sun’s reflection against the water guides my vision to a man Cheerful, he offers a rose with thorns...

We have just reached the end of our eighth week working on this project. I would just like to recap what we have done so far:
We have raised $1,471
We have found a venue that is donating their space to us
We have created a website that allows people to continuously get updated on the project.
And of course we have done a lot more that is not coming to mind right now.
It may not...

I am… and this is the problem. Walls I have constructed, constricting me to this barren vantage point. I look out on the sea of “self” but just as the tide shifts and the waves roll Every day a new breath I rise from the ashes of what I have been these past selves crashing into one another to produce me. I am to blame for the strength of the walls. I laid the bricks close and...
I am bisexual. But is that all? I also love Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food ice cream. Who says that my sexual orientation is more important than my impeccable taste in ice cream? Being anything other than straight, which is probably more common than most people think, is discussed, shunned, accepted, sad, fun, awesome, confusing, and really not that important – all depending on the person that’s...
I am searching. I look for a place of balance: school, friends, family. For a split second, I think I have found it and by finding it, that perhaps I have learned something more about myself. But the next moment, it is gone and I know nothing more than I did before. We have long talks about who we are, where we come from, but it is impossible to completely know another person. You might know a...

A Bit of an Update
I thought I would fill you all in on the resent meetings that I’ve been having this week about The Project I Am.
Today, I met with Carolyn Laub (the founder of the GSA Network) and Jacking Downing (the Developement and Communications Manager). It was a very exciting meeting. We discussed a lot of stuff, from venues to food to the website. The Network is going to be an amazing resource...
Meeting about a venue
I am excited to announce that in a week and a half I am going to be meeting with some people about a venue. I don’t want to give you guys too much info because I don’t want anyone to be disappointed if it falls through. Hopefully, it won’t!
I’ll keep you updated!

It's Happening
Ok. Today, I spoke to Carolyn Laub, the founder of the Gay-Straight Alliance Network, and she has given me the thumbs up to do the special event to benefit her organization. It looks like I’ll be working closely with the organization to get this thing going and to make it actually happen. IT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING. I am super excited!
Thanks for visiting the site,
